Lethu Ncube, PhD
Investment researcher focused on sustainable finance and emerging markets.
Lethu founded Steward Research to examine how environmental, social and governance factors, institutional accountability and geopolitical change shape investment decisions and long-term economic resilience.
Her doctoral research at Rhodes University analysed ESG disclosures from 1,081 listed companies. The work assessed stakeholder decision-usefulness and reporting credibility, translated abstract reporting frameworks into measurable indicators, and developed a data-driven model for evaluating disclosure quality and reliability.
Experience
Lethu's background spans investment research, corporate finance, accounting education and financial analysis. She previously lectured in corporate finance and accounting at the University of Pretoria, worked as a financial analyst across Africa and the Middle East, and produced market analysis and investment recommendations as an equity analyst.
